Broad sweeps of thick white paint cut across a deep black ground in this horizontal abstract, crossing and looping in fast, energetic arcs. The white sits in heavy raised ridges, so the surface catches light and shows every drag and pull of the stroke. Fine flung lines and spatters of black and white thread through the composition like a loose web, adding speed and tension to the larger gestures.
Small accents of orange, red and mustard yellow peek out near the edges and lower corner, giving the mostly monochrome palette a quiet spark of warmth. Soft gray washes in the background add depth behind the bright white marks. The result feels lively and kinetic, a strong graphic presence for a living room, entryway or office.
