This square canvas captures the moment a wave spreads across the sand, seen up close with no horizon or boats to distract from the surface itself. Thick, hand-applied paint builds raised ridges of white foam over a foreground of sand and earthy brown, while softer passages of ivory and cream let the eye rest. The texture shifts as light crosses it from different angles.
The palette skips ocean blue entirely, using ivory, cream, beige, sand, taupe, caramel brown and warm gray. That restraint gives you coastal subject matter without a nautical theme, so it sits comfortably in Japandi, organic modern, minimalist or Scandinavian rooms. Hang it above a linen sofa, a bed dressed in pale bedding, or an oak or travertine console. Because each painting is made by hand, expect small variations in brushwork and texture, with the composition and colors staying true to the image.
