This hand-painted abstract captures the brief moment a wave spills onto the sand and starts to recede. Ivory and soft greige fill the upper field like water seen through mist, while a raised ridge of white foam curls across the canvas in loose, uneven lines. Below it, a band of taupe and ochre brown reads as wet shoreline holding the warmth of late light.
The palette stays quiet and earthy, so the coastal feeling comes through without blue water or nautical cues. Palette-knife marks and built-up paint give the surface real depth that catches shadow as light shifts through the day. It sits comfortably among oak, walnut, linen, stone and bouclé, and its vertical format suits a narrow wall, the space between windows or the area above a console or sideboard.
