Because the cups are shaped individually, the facets scatter light in their own way on every sconce, and the walnut grain and brass rod show natural variation from one piece to the next.
A small pull chain at the fixture lets you turn it on and off without a wall switch, which suits a bedside, a reading corner, a guest room or a hallway. Mounted as a pair on either side of a bed, it gives focused reading light while the rest of the room stays dim.
