Three graduated shades of solid brass, each spun by hand from heavy-gauge metal, stack into one broad, sculptural form. The tiers step down in size, so light spilling from one tier washes across the next, and the brushed satin surface turns that light into a soft, even glow. The chain and canopy are solid brass as well, so the finish stays consistent from ceiling to shade.
Rather than throwing a narrow beam downward, the shades work as reflectors. Light passes between the tiers and bounces off the brass, giving a warm ambient light all around the room. Warm white at 2700K brings out the gold tone inside the tiers, while cooler light tends to make brass look flat and slightly green. Over a kitchen island or desk, plan on separate task lighting alongside it.

Care
Turn the fixture off and allow the lamps to cool before cleaning. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, moving with the direction of the brushing. Avoid metal polish and abrasive cleaners, which can remove the satin finish and mark the brass.
