A low sun hangs over a still harbor in this hand-painted canvas, laying a band of gold across blue-gray water where sailboats sit at rest near a hazy shoreline. Thick palette-knife work builds up the sky and the water, while shorter strokes shape the reflections, the dark rocks and the outlines of harbor buildings in the distance.
The palette pairs dusty and slate blues with cream, ivory, beige and warm gold, grounded by touches of navy and charcoal. The scene reads as coastal without leaning on nautical cliches, so it sits comfortably in modern coastal, organic modern, Scandinavian, minimalist and transitional rooms. The raised texture shows best when light falls across the canvas from the side. Because each painting is made by hand, expect small variations in brushwork and texture, with the composition and colors staying true to the image.
