This large drum chandelier is built from a ring of upright antique mirrored glass fins, set at uneven heights within an aged brass frame and suspended from three chains. The fins vary in tone from smoky grey to bronze and amber, so the fixture reads differently from every angle in the room.
The glass is true antique mirror, put through a genuine ageing process that leaves the clouding and foxing found in old looking glass. Because the patina is real rather than printed, each fin is unique. The mirrored panels conceal the lamps and send light both upward and downward through the open drum, while the glass catches reflections of the room. It works best as ambient lighting rather than task lighting.
With a 36 in (91.4 cm) diameter and a slim 9 in (22.9 cm) depth, it sits comfortably over a round dining table of roughly 55 to 71 in (140 to 180 cm) or above a stair landing, and it suits standard 8 ft (2.4 m) ceilings.
