A loose gathering of ceramic vessels sits on a softly rendered tabletop in this square still life: a tall slender form, a pale rounded jar, a cup beside a shallow bowl, and smaller pieces tucked between them. Nothing matches, and that is the point. Each shape reads clearly against a muted wall that has been layered and scraped until it takes on an almost plaster-like depth.
The palette stays in warm neutrals, from ivory and cream through camel, taupe and warm gray to deep brown and charcoal. Heavy palette-knife work gives both the pottery and the background a raised, worn surface that catches changing light. It sits comfortably in Japandi, organic modern, rustic minimal and transitional rooms, and its subject feels especially natural in a dining room or kitchen. The painting is done by hand, so expect small differences in marks and texture from the image while the composition and colors stay true.
