A square field of hand-painted blocks in ivory, cream, camel and warm beige, broken here and there by marks of espresso brown and soft black. The grid is deliberately loose. Each block varies slightly in shape and thickness, and the surface shifts from smooth, softly layered passages to raised palette-knife ridges and scraped edges.
Seen from a distance, the composition reads as calm and architectural. Closer in, the heavy impasto and irregular handwork take over, revealing how the piece was built. The warm neutral palette sits easily with wood, linen and stone, and suits Japandi, organic-modern and warm minimalist rooms. Side light or natural light brings out the texture best.
