Sixteen shallow oval discs of white glass are set on tapered brass sockets, each tilted at its own angle from a solid brass armature. Suspended on cables instead of a rigid stem, the fixture appears to hover, and at five feet across it gives a large room a clear center, such as a dining table, a kitchen island or a stair void.
Because some discs face the ceiling and others angle downward, with every lamp hidden behind its glass, the light comes off the disc surfaces and bounces back from above. The result is a wide, soft ambient glow without glare. It is not a downlight, so over a table you may want candles or small recessed lights for focused light on the surface. In a double-height room, the upturned discs brighten the space above the fixture as well.
The glass has a gentle cloudy banding that differs on every disc, and it is opaque enough to hide the lamp fully while glowing warm when lit. The brass carries a satin aged finish applied directly to the metal, not a lacquer over plating, so it sits warmly beside the white glass.

Care
Remove dust from the glass using a dry microfiber cloth, holding each disc from underneath instead of pushing on its front. Clean the brass with a cloth that is only slightly damp, then dry right away. Skip metal polish, since it strips the aged finish and leaves shiny spots, and keep ammonia glass cleaners off the brass.
