The bulb stays hidden from most viewpoints, and light slips out through the gaps between layers, catching the metal on its way. The result is a soft, ambient glow without glare, with a gentle wash of light reaching the surface below.
Warm white light suits the brass best. At 2700K the tiers read as rich gold, while cooler light tends to flatten them toward a greenish tone. At 60 cm across, the pendant sits well over a round or square table of roughly 120 to 160 cm (47 to 63 in), or in a room of about 3.5 x 4 m (12 x 13 ft). For a long table or kitchen island, hang two in a row and add task lighting nearby. Over a table, set the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35 in) above the surface. In an entry hall, place it where it can be admired from below.

Care
Switch off the pendant and let it cool before cleaning. Dust with a soft, dry cloth, wiping in the direction of the brushed grain. Avoid metal polish and abrasive cleaners, which will mark the finish.
