This panoramic abstract is built from dozens of thick, rounded daubs of paint stacked in a loose horizontal band across the middle of the canvas. Lemon yellow, scarlet, ochre, leaf green, cobalt blue and touches of violet sit shoulder to shoulder, with chalky white patches catching the light between them. The paint stands up from the surface in raised ridges, giving the whole band a tactile, almost tiled quality.
Behind and below that band, broad vertical strokes of yellow, orange, green and deep blue run down to a pale gray ground, like color melting out of the cluster above. Warm reds and golds gather on the left while cooler greens and blues settle on the right, so the eye travels across the piece from heat to calm. It brings energy and plenty of color to a living room, entryway or office wall.
