A wide hemispherical dome in red stainless steel, finished by hand and suspended from a matching stainless steel chain. The chain is substantial enough to feel like part of the design rather than hardware. The red finish shows best against white or ivory walls, oak and pale stone, where the color can stand on its own.
The bulb sits deep inside the dome and directs light downward, casting a concentrated pool onto the table or counter while leaving the ceiling softly lit. It works well as task lighting over a kitchen island. In larger rooms, pair it with gentler ambient sources. Hang one alone or several in a row over a dining alcove, island or entry hall.
