Blocks of pink, coral, cobalt and lavender stack up on either side of this vertical canvas, suggesting tall buildings crowding a narrow street that fades into pale light at the center. The shapes are loose and angular, more felt than drawn, so the city reads as a mosaic of color rather than a literal scene. Deep navy and black accents anchor the edges, while soft cream and butter yellow open up the path running down the middle.
The paint is laid on thickly with a palette knife, leaving raised ridges, scraped edges and layered patches you can see catching the light. Warm reds and oranges push forward against cooler blues and teals, giving the piece a lively, energetic rhythm. It brings bright, eclectic color to a living room, entryway or study.
