Broad, sculpted sweeps of creamy white run down the left side of this vertical abstract, laid on so thickly that every ridge and fold of the knife catches the light. Against them, a bold mass of bright orange rises from the lower right, its edges pulled into drips and peaks that give the surface a raised, almost carved feel.
Between these two forces, smaller passages of black, slate gray, mustard, olive green, blush pink, sunny yellow and flashes of blue and red fill the gaps like fragments of a collage. The heavy texture and lively color make the piece feel energetic and warm, a strong focal point for a living room or entryway with mid-century or eclectic character.
