An open rectangle of hand-carved alabaster floats on fine stainless steel cables, lit from inside by an integrated LED that runs the full length of the frame. When it is on, the entire stone glows evenly and its natural veining comes forward, while a soft wash of light falls onto the table or counter below. The slim canopy keeps attention on the alabaster.
Because alabaster is translucent, it takes on the color of the light within it. No two pieces of alabaster are alike, and you may request more veining, less, or let the stone decide. It works well over a dining table, kitchen island, console or long bathroom vanity. For an island used heavily for cooking, plan on separate task lighting as well.
