A wide mountain valley settles into stillness in this hand-painted landscape. Two sage and olive slopes fold toward a calm blue-gray lake, with a dark rocky shoreline anchoring the foreground and a broad ivory sky opening above. The scene favors mood over landmark, so it reads as a place you could step into rather than a postcard.
Palette-knife work gives the surface real relief. Wide ivory sweeps build the sky, layered sage and charcoal strokes shape the hills, and gentle horizontal ridges suggest reflections drifting across the water. As light shifts through the day, the texture comes forward and recedes. The muted palette of green, soft blue, cream, taupe and charcoal sits comfortably in both warm and cool rooms, from a living room wall above a linen sofa to a quiet bedroom or reading corner.
