A wide, hushed shoreline painted by hand on canvas, this coastal landscape trades bright nautical blues for warm ivory, sand beige, pale blue-gray and deep olive and forest greens. Thick white palette-knife strokes sweep across the foreground like foam left behind on wet sand, and a still channel of water draws the eye back toward misty mountains on the horizon.
Dark green headlands hold both edges of the composition, giving the pale beach and open sky a real sense of distance. The scene is pared down to shore, water, land and sky, so it reads as a mood more than a place. The panoramic proportions suit long walls above a sofa, bed, sideboard or fireplace, as well as hallways and hospitality interiors that call for quiet, visibly handmade texture.
