The glass diffuses the bulb into gentle ambient light. White gives off the more practical, brighter light, while orange casts a lower and moodier glow. Pair it with a 2700K warm white LED: at that color temperature the orange reads as amber and the white takes on a creamy tone, whereas cooler bulbs can make the orange look dull and the white feel stark.
At 11 inches across, a single fixture suits a small bedroom, closet or landing of roughly 10 by 10 feet. For a hallway, plan on one about every 5 to 6.5 feet. Its 9.8 inch drop is well matched to ceilings between about 7.5 and 8.5 feet.

Turn the fixture off and give the bulb time to cool before cleaning. Use a soft cloth on the glass, adding a little water only if needed. For the brass, a dry soft cloth is enough; skip any metal polish.
