This chandelier is built from salvaged milpa wood, sliced thin and left to dry in the sun until each piece curls into a shallow dome. The wood keeps its cracks, knots and grain lines, so the surface reads as something grown rather than manufactured. An acrylic lacquer seals it, and matte black hardware keeps the fittings quiet.
A single metallic dipped bulb sits at the center, casting light across the curved wood. Because every slice dries in its own way, no two fixtures share exactly the same size, color or pattern. It hangs well over a dining table or in a living room, and it can be mounted on a vaulted ceiling.
