A large seated figure in profile rests between two weathered white walls, her eyes hidden beneath a swirling white cloud that drifts up from her head and trails into the sky. She wears a navy striped jacket with a soft tan scarf, and at her feet two smaller figures sit in low wooden chairs, one gazing up at her and one leaning back. Stacked books, a slender bottle and small wooden blocks are scattered across the pale ground, giving the scene a quiet, dreamlike stillness.
The palette pairs a calm powder blue sky with chalky whites, warm browns and rust orange chair cushions. Thick, raised paint gives the crumbling walls and the cloud a tactile relief, while softer brushwork shapes the faces and the thin streaks of cloud across the horizon. It is a contemplative surrealist scene that invites a second look in an entryway, living room or study.
