This horizontal abstract reads like a quiet stretch of sea and sky reduced to broad bands of color. The upper half is a hazy field of sky blue and soft aqua, warmed by streaks of rust and terracotta and broken by patches of creamy white. A deep navy stripe runs across the middle like a distant shoreline, separated by a thin pale line from the wide expanse of cornflower and cobalt blue below.
The surface is worked and lived in. Scratched lines, faint marks and thin drips cut through the paint, while scraped and layered passages, consistent with palette knife work, let earlier colors show through. A small block of bright blue sits in the top corner, adding a crisp accent to the soft, weathered layers. The overall mood is calm and open, with enough texture and warmth to keep the eye moving across the canvas.
