Glossy black lines loop and swing across this square canvas, crossing and doubling back in long, looping arcs that end in small raised beads of paint. Beneath them lies a dense field of ivory and cream, laid on in thick, raised strokes that crack and web in places, letting gray and charcoal patches show through like weathered layers.
Around the edges, color breaks in with real energy: cobalt blue along the left side, a bar of mustard yellow low on the left, and flashes of red scattered toward the right and bottom. Fine black and white spatters tie everything together, so the eye keeps moving from one gesture to the next. It brings rhythm and spirited motion to a living room, entryway or study.
