This black rattan chandelier is built from five stacked bands. They swell to their fullest width at the middle and taper toward both the crown and the bottom, giving the drum a soft, rounded profile. It hangs on a black link chain from a matching round canopy. The open basket weave is dyed black all the way through the fiber, so you still see the grain and texture of the rattan while the overall shape reads crisp and graphic. Each band is woven individually, so expect small differences in spacing and tension from one piece to the next.With the lamps off, it hangs as a dark sculptural form. Once lit, warm light slips through the openings and throws a woven pattern onto the ceiling. The dark fiber holds back more light than lighter rattan, which gives a quieter, more intimate glow.
