Green Marble Furniture: Verde Alpi, Prada Green & the Return of Colored Stone

For a decade, luxury stone meant white — Calacatta, Carrara, Statuario. Now the most-requested pieces in our workroom are green. Deep, forest-veined marble has become the statement stone of the moment, and unlike a paint colour, a green marble table is a decades-long commitment worth getting right.

The green stones worth knowing

  • Verde Alpi — a dark, almost-black green Italian marble laced with sharp white veins (also sold as Verde Fusion or Zafiro Verde). The classic 1970s green, back in demand.
  • Prada Green (Verde Prada) — a softer, atmospheric green with cloudy grey-white movement; calm rather than dramatic.
  • Verde Guatemala — emerald with high-contrast white veining; the most vivid of the greens.
  • Green onyx — not a marble at all, but a translucent emerald stone for those who want glow as well as colour.

Why green, and why now

Green grounds a neutral room the way a houseplant does — it adds life without shouting. It pairs naturally with brass, walnut and bouclé, and it photographs beautifully. After years of cool white marble, a green piece feels collected and personal rather than showroom-sterile.

New vs. vintage

Most green marble online is vintage — 1970s Italian pieces on resale sites, at collector prices, with the condition risk of fifty-year-old stone and whatever size the original happened to be. The alternative is to commission the same look, newly cut, in the exact dimensions your room needs and a stone with no chips or repairs.

Commissioning a green marble piece

You choose the stone (and often the exact slab, so the veining is yours), the size to the centimetre, the finish — honed for a soft matte look, polished for depth and shine — and the base. We build it to order and deliver it white-glove.
