Synthetic (PE) Rattan

Synthetic Rattan, also known as plastic or poly-rattan, is a man-made material that mimics the appearance and texture of natural rattan, offering durability and weather resistance, making it ideal for outdoor furniture.

Advantages:

  • Durability: Synthetic rattan is more durable and weather-resistant than natural rattan, making it suitable for outdoor use.

  • Low Maintenance: It's easy to clean and requires minimal maintenance.

  • Weather Resistance: It resists UV damage, rain, snow, and frost.

Synthetic Rattan furniture is remarkably low-maintenance, requiring only occasional cleaning with mild soap and water, and a gentle brush or vacuum to remove dust and debris.

Cleaning:

  • Regular Cleaning: Wipe down with a damp cloth or sponge to remove dirt and debris.

  • Avoid Abrasive Products: Do not use harsh chemicals, scouring pads, or bleach, as these can damage the finish.

Maintenance:

  • No Special Treatments: Synthetic rattan typically doesn't require special treatments or preservatives.

  • Moisture and Mold: While synthetic rattan is moisture-resistant, avoid prolonged exposure to standing water to prevent mold growth.

  • Storage: If storing for extended periods, cover the furniture or store indoors.

  • Scratches: Scratches on synthetic rattan strands can be fixed using epoxy resin and paint.

  • Broken Strands: You can repair broken strands with epoxy resin and paint.

General Tips:

  • Use a Garden Hose: You can use a garden hose on a gentle setting to rinse the furniture.

  • Avoid Pressure Washers: Do not use a pressure washer, as it can damage the coatings and finishes.

  • Keep Clean: Regularly cleaning and maintaining your synthetic rattan furniture will help it last longer and look its best.
