carved-travertine-drum-flush-mount-with-walnut-canopy
Carved Travertine Drum Flush Mount with Walnut Canopy

This small ceiling light pairs a body of natural travertine, carved from a single block, with a canopy of solid walnut turned in a dark tone. The stone carries its own pitting and earthy veining, so each fixture looks a little different from the next. When the lamp is on, the hollow inside the travertine glows and the surface texture comes forward, while light falls in a soft pool below.

Travertine responds closely to the color of its light. Under 2700K warm white it reads rich and earthy, and cooler light tends to make it look gray and flat, so a warm lamp is intended here. At just 12 cm across and 10 cm deep, the fixture works well on low ceilings and in repetition: a row along a corridor spaced about 1.5 to 2 m apart, a single one in a powder room, or two above a bar or niche. It is best treated as an accent light, with other ambient sources in larger rooms.

Details

Materials: natural travertine body carved from one block; solid walnut canopy in a dark tone

Dimensions: 12 cm (4.7 in) diameter, 10 cm (3.9 in) high

Profile: sits within 10 cm (3.9 in) of the ceiling

Light source: one E27 lamp

Recommended lamp: 3 to 5 W warm white LED, 2700K

Light output: soft downward pool with a glowing stone body

Mounting: walnut canopy fixes directly to the ceiling; hardwired

Weight: approximately 1.5 to 2.5 kg (3.3 to 5.5 lb)

Custom options: wood species and stone finish can be changed on volume orders

Care

Turn the fixture off and allow the lamp to cool before cleaning.
